INTRODUCTION -Now a days , health issues in the country are being seen in huge amounts in rural areas as well as in urban areas but with this.


 our country by putting so much efforts  trying to minimize them.


As health care is regarded as the important aspect   that is a major requirement of individual, belonging to various age groups, castes, races, socioeconomic status etc.

 

 We all know good health of the population is very crucial for the development of the country...So this is only possible when each and every person got good medical facilities and healthcare services to achieve a good health...

Health facility or health care facility is not a simple term ,  it has a broad importance with broad meaning which mainly include diagnosis, ensuring availability of therapeutic substances ,treatment of diseases, promoting immunity, conducting various research programms for diagnostic purpose, prevention of diseases by creating awareness among people through health education so that they take preventive measures to protect themselves from deadly diseases. ...





DEFINITION : Medical facilities are the aids provided to the people to promote health, to prevent disease, to cure the disease and rehabilitation services. ....

PHC: This is considered as the first contact between the village and the medical officer. This provide curative as well as preventive health care to the people of village with the pro-motive , preventive and rehabilitative aspects of healthcare...It has 4 to 6 beds for patients. .The functioning of PHC is controlled by medical officer, supported by 14 paramedical and other staff....It acts as a referral unit for six sub centres . This is also considered as a backbone of health service deliver to a country...

 

CHC: It acts as a referral centre for 4 neighbouring PHC's ..The functioning of the CHC's is controlled by 4 medical specialists, i.e,  surgeon, physician, gynaecologist, paediatrician and supported by 21 paramedical and other staff. It has 30 beds for the patients with OT X-RAY, labour room and lab facilities...The two main aims of this centre include one is to provide essential health care services to the rural individuals and second one is to reduce the overcrowding in district hospitals. ..

 

SUBCENTRES : This is the first contact between the primary health centre and community health centre ..This include one      Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) and one male health worker ...The sub-centres provide in relation to maternal and child health , family welfare, immunisation, diabetes and diarrhoea control and control of communicable diseases programmes. The sub centres provided with basic drugs for the treatment of minor signs and symptoms. ...

 

HOSPITALS : Hospitals are the govt. or private institutions which provide every essential healthcare survive to the sick or injured people...Hospitals are divided into various types according to :how long care needed , specific therapy, specific disease, specific diagnose, size of institution,  education  and who run the hospital either govt. or private sector....

Some of these are Specialized hospitals, generalised hospitals, acute care hospital, chronic care hospital, District  hospital, Govt. Medical college and hospital , Private clinics, etc....

 


HEALTH CAMPS: Organisation of health camps plays a vital role in improving the health  conditions of the population in rural areas. They are mainly organized in partnership with hospitals and colleges by the volunteers. ..They are conducted to provide     screening facilities for eye ,diabetes, dental ,ENT, as well as specialised medical facilities to the non-hospitalized sick persons ,their families and also to the well families by visiting in community across India ...The information of conducting  health camps is given by door to door service and encourage the people to come for screening....

 

HEALTH EDUCATION : It is also considered as the medical facility provided through verbal means to aware the sick people ,their families as well as the well families and the group of people with health problems which affect the community as a whole about the prevention of illness and disability ,promotion of health ,improve the conditions of social and environmental, and for rehabilitation. ..

The various instructions are provided to the people in simple terms so they can understand easily and implement on them...This include:

-* Encourage them to maintain hygienic practices..

-* Encourage them for avoiding sedentary lifestyle and adapt healthy life style to promote good health in every aspect..

-*Instruct them to avoid smoking, alcohol consumption, or consumption of any other substances which are harmful for the addicted person as well as families and community...

-* Instruct them to take all the consultation  services which are provided at the health camp if organized in the community, units of Anganwadi  where the children and their mother undergo medical screening. ...

-* Create awareness among people about the particular diseases ,how to control their signs and symptoms and instruct them to go for diagnosis and treatment as soon as the signs and symptoms appear..

-* Food hygiene and dietary modifications are necessary to prevent the various diseases. Take healthy diet with proper amount of proteins, carbohydrates, fats ,minerals and the electrolytes to maintain  good physical and  mental health ..

-*Educate the public about the importance of vaccination and immunisation in simple and effective way to protect the children from several diseases by promoting immunity to fight against the diseases...

-*Educate the people about the basic first aid ,sanitation and nutrition at different stages of development including pregnancy...

-*Promote social and emotional health awareness by providing reducing stress techniques like meditation, physical exercises etc..

 

ADVANTAGES :

1. They provide quality care to the patient to prevent disease, promote health in a short period of time. .

2. Periodic check-ups done by the medical practitioners to assess the health condition and make a care plan according to the condition..

3. They provide laboratories for diagnose the disease mainly caused by pathogens..

4. Various types of drugs ,IV bottles ,blood ,meal etc. are provided to the needy patients...in the govt. hospitals.

5. Through the door to door services, health camps and health education people of rural areas are mostly aware about the preventive measures to protect the human body from the impact of disease...

 

DISADVANTAGES :

The ratio of medical facilities and the sick people becomes constant nowadays as the medical facilities increases ,the rate of sick people continuously increasing day by day..



The reason behind this, In ancient times ,people mostly prefer to intake natural substances to maintain good health but now a days due to increase in medical facilities, people become totally dependent on physician prescriptive drugs and avoid the use of natural supplements like green leafy vegetables, cereals etc which help to increase the immunity in human body and fight against diseases in natural way...
